Speaking of memorials, why haven't they made one of me yet?

Living memorials are a thing yes? The Great and Mighty Presto demands one then! Regardless, today the Great and Mighty Presto would like to share his opinion-no, will be filling your head with the truth!  Recently the Great and Mighty Presto has read a segment from Postcards from the Trenches, by Allyson Booth. The Great and Mighty Presto declares that this mortal has made some quite good points about memorials(at least those to the dead, for he still craves one of his own). Specifically this mortal is talking about the different types of memorials, and which more properly honors the dead, in this case specifically those who died during WW1. The mortal goes into describing a certain type of monument known as a Cenotaph. This memorial is fitting due to the fact so many of the soldiers lost from WW1 had corpses so badly damaged that they were difficult if not impossible to identify. Due to this they chose the cenotaph, which unlike other monuments which almost serve as graves in their own, instead specifically points out the absence of corpses, and commemorates the fact the soldiers are gone. Quoting this mortal "a quality more akin to a gasp of inarticulateness than to any congratulatory sentiment about the good that was gotten or the future that was fought for.", this is what the Cenotaph does so well. Instead of aggrandizing the deaths of so many soldiers, and trying to be positive about their loss to try and move on. The Cenotaph is far more respectful to the dead, for it acknowledges that, yes, those whom the memorial is for are indeed gone, and that isn't something that we should try to forget, or gloss over. The Great and Mighty Presto's only issue with this text is how saddening it is to think about, though he did just explain how that is the whole point of it... Nevermind that, the Great and Mighty Presto has decided that this is enough for now, his head hurts!
